The clinical trial of Bharat Biotech’s Covaccine on children has started from today at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. Today about 25 children came, who have been screened and tested. Those children who do not get antibodies in the test and whose body will not get antibodies will be included in the trial of the vaccine and will be given the corona vaccine. It is expected that the report will come by late evening and the vaccine will be given to the children.
In this trial it will be seen whether the vaccine is safe and immunogenic? Will this work? In the trial, the children were divided into three groups. The first group is 12 to 18 years, in which the volunteers of clinical trials of this age group will be given the vaccine dose. After this, children aged 6 to 12 years and then children between the ages of 2 to 6 years will be included in the vaccine trial.
The trial of children will also be the same as that of other people.
There will be a gap of 28 days between the first dose and the second dose.
Children will also be given a dose of 6mg.
After getting the vaccine in the trial, they will also be continuously monitored.
This vaccine is to be trialed on 525 children in different centers in India. Out of which about 50 children are to be tried in Delhi AIIMS. According to Dr. Sanjay Rai, Principal Investigator of this trial, so far ten times more applications have come in it to join the trial.
