Cold wave in 10 districts of Jharkhand, mercury of Kanke reached 4.5 degrees

Ranchi: Due to the ongoing snowfall in North India and the influence of northern winds, severe frost has increased in Jharkhand. Ten districts of the state, Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Gumla, Lohardaga and Simdega are under the influence of cold wave. A continuous decline in temperature is being recorded in these districts. According to the Meteorological Center, yellow alert has been issued in 10 districts hit by cold wave on Sunday.

The state’s lowest temperature was recorded at Gumla at 3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature at Kanke in the capital Ranchi was 4.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature at McCluskieganj was five degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Ranchi was 10 degree Celsius which is 0.1 degree less in the last 24 hours. After this, the minimum temperature in Khunti was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius. According to the bulletin, the minimum temperatures in Daltonganj and Bokaro were 6.1 degrees Celsius and 8.2 degrees Celsius respectively. The minimum temperature in Lohardaga and West Singhbhum was 8.5 degrees Celsius, while in Latehar it was 9 degrees Celsius. According to the information given in the weather bulletin, the minimum temperature in the capital Ranchi was 10.1 degrees Celsius. At the same time, 9.4 degree Celsius temperature was recorded in Jamshedpur, 9.5 in Koderma and 9.6 degree Celsius in Deoghar. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid cold. The cold is going to bother people more in the next two days.

What was told by Ranchi Meteorological Center

Ranchi Meteorological Center Deputy Director Abhishek Anand said that the drop in temperature is due to the north-westerly wind which is active in the lower tropospheric level of Jharkhand. He said that the minimum temperature may further drop by two degrees Celsius during the next 48 hours. After this, it is likely to increase by two to three degrees Celsius.
