‘Confront TMC workers and show’, Kalyan Banerjee’s challenge to rebel MPs

After losing the West Bengal assembly elections, Trinamool Congress party has split. A large section of the Trinamool Congress is desperate to meet Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders. There was an uproar in the Trinamool Congress when more than 14 MPs met BJP General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav at his residence in Delhi. MP Mahua Moitra has called these leaders spineless and traitors. Now Kalyan Banerjee has claimed that it was Amit Shah who had called Yusuf Pathan to meet him.

Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘He had gone to Bhupendra Yadav’s house. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari had gone there. Meaning it is clear that he had gone to discuss joining BJP. Now they may play magic with words but the people of West Bengal are not fools. I have learned that I would have appreciated if they had discussed at a different place, they have chosen Narendra Modi as their leader instead of Mamata Banerjee.

Kalyan Banerjee, MP, TMC:-
Yusuf Pathan has said that Amit Shah has called him. He had come to Delhi to meet him.

‘Thousands of people arrested in West Bengal’

Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘I would tell them to go to their Assembly-Lok Sabha elections, talk to the people, go in front of their people. What is happening in West Bengal, democracy is gone, there is bureaucracy, 8 thousand people have been arrested, leaders, workers cannot hold meetings at their homes, FIR is not being uploaded, grounds for detention are not being disclosed, every unconstitutional work is going on, there is police rule in West Bengal.

Kalyan Banerjee, MP, Trinamool Congress:-
What is the duty of the MPs in West Bengal, they should stand with their people and understand their pain. They should be in their respective areas but they are not here. BJP must have put a condition that they will let you go only when you join. He has now met BJP. It is said in the 10th Schedule that parties can change if they have 2/3rd majority. Why don’t you go, the only reason is that BJP will not include you.

What is happening in Trinamool Congress?

More than 20 Trinamool Congress MPs are now trying to join BJP. The MPs have asked for a separate place from the Trinamool Congress in the House, where arrangements for their sitting should be made. MPs are no longer ready to accept Mamata Banerjee as a leader. These figures may increase further.

In West Bengal, more than 58 MLAs have already rebelled against Trinamool Congress and refused to accept Mamata Banerjee as their leader. They have accepted Ritabrata Banerjee as their leader, whom TMC has expelled. Mamata Banerjee does not have enough parliamentary strength even to become the leader of opposition. There seems to be no solution to this political problem of Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal.
