Congress made Keshav Mahato Kamlesh the state president to woo backward class voters in its favor. This gave a message to the OBC voters that the party has given the highest post in the state to a person from their community. Congress has given its Vishrampur seat contested in the 2019 assembly elections to RJD. In such a situation, the party can field a candidate from Chhatarpur. Congress has included former minister Radhakrishna Kishore in the party. He can be a candidate from here. At the same time, due to Pakur MLA Alamgir Alam being in jail, his wife or son seems to be getting the ticket.
Apart from this, it is considered certain that MLA Umashankar Akela or his son from Barhi and KN Tripathi from Daltonganj will get the ticket. Apart from this, churning is going on on the names of Ajay Dubey or Abhijeet Raj from Dhanbad, Devendra Singh alias Bittu Singh from Panki, Chandan Baitha from Kanke and three from Bokaro.

The list of claimants was prepared at the party level. Later, a list of five contenders in each assembly constituency was also sought from the block presidents. Many minorities from Dhanbad and Bokaro districts had staked claim in both the lists. More than 15 minority claimants had come forward for three seats of Dhanbad district, Jharia, Dhanbad Sadar and Baghmara area. Congress is claiming to contest elections only on three seats in the district. Candidates have been given for Jharia and Baghmara. Minorities have hope from Dhanbad Sadar seat only.
