Coolie: Nagarjuna calls Lokesh a 'Gen Z filmmaker'

Mumbai Mumbai. Coolie starring Rajinikanth directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is one of the most awaited films. This film is the 171st film of superstar Rajinikanth. Nagarjuna Akkineni, who plays the lead role in the film, revealed some details about it at IFFI, Goa. Nagarjuna Akkineni at IFFI, Goa talks about his experience of working with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj in Coolie. The actor will play the role of Simon in the film. He said, “Lokesh Kanagaraj is not a Gen Z director, but I believe he is a Gen Z kind of filmmaker. He is a new-age filmmaker in terms of scripts and all that.”

Talking about his role in Coolie, Nagarjuna said, “It's very liberating to play his character. There are no rules. He doesn't say the hero should behave this way or the villain should behave this way. Needed.” The actor also spoke about how the filmmaker's new style of direction is for the project and is enjoying his experimentation in acting. Apart from this, Nagarjuna also talked about his role in the upcoming film Kuber directed by Shekhar Kammula.

Coolie is an upcoming action thriller produced by Sun Pictures. Apart from Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, the film also stars Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Upendra in lead roles. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj. Coolie is expected to release in theaters in 2025. The film will be released in Tamil, while there will be dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. Apart from the IMAX format, the makers are also planning to release the film in 2D and 3D formats.
