Not only dancing, watching also improves brain health, know the complete study
Benefits of watching dance: In this busy life, everyone is troubled by the problem of stress and depression. To deal with these problems, there are many activities in life which can be done to deal with the problems. Not only those who dance or perform the dance get its benefit, but those who watch it carefully also get the benefit.
It has been said by Japanese research that, if we dance or watch dance, there is some movement in our brain. Such which creates positive waves in the entire brain. As a result, emotional and aesthetic processing improves.
Know what research says
A recent research project here was conducted under the leadership of Professor Hiroshi Imamizu of the University of Tokyo, Associate Professor Yu Takagi of Nagoya Institute of Technology and their team. Scientists tried to know through research what effect watching dance has on the brain. The team included 14 participants, including seven who had just started learning and seven who were experts in their craft. All of them were shown dance videos for five hours and then their brains were scanned. In these videos, more than 30 dancers performed 10 different styles of dance on more than 60 types of music including hip-hop, breakdance, street jazz and ballet.
Know how the study was done
Here in the study, researchers used an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) model trained on a large collection of dance videos. The same AI model was used to analyze the participants’ brain data. The approach using this model helped the team understand how features such as dance movement, musical tempo, beauty and facial expressions influence the mapping of dance in the human brain. The results showed that dancers who were proficient in their style had more distinct and unique neural maps for each dance style. Their brains responded differently to movement and music than those of beginners.

the brain becomes active
The study also revealed that when a person watches dance, his brain works in coordination with emotional and musical gestures. Researchers said that this connection plays an important role in how humans understand and create movement-based art. One of the most striking results was that long-term dance training can change the structure of the brain. This information provides a deeper understanding of how people learn, create, and emotionally connect with dance.
