Recently, the investigating agency had made some important arrests in this case, which include these four accused. On the basis of preliminary investigation, the court had sent these accused to the custody of NIA, so that they could be interrogated and get to the bottom of the case.
The special court of the National Investigation Agency had extended the custody of accused Soyeb by 10 more days. Soyeb was produced in the court in Patiala House Court last Friday amid tight security, after which Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna gave this decision after the expiry of the initial 10-day remand period. The proceedings were held in a closed courtroom.
According to the NIA, Soyeb is accused of harboring bomb maker Omar Un Nabi just before the terrorist attack on November 10. Who is a resident of Faridabad. He is the seventh person to be arrested in this case. The attack was one of the most serious terrorist attacks in the capital in recent years, with several people killed and several others injured when a blast in a moving Hyundai i20 car took place.
NIA said that the arrested accused not only provided shelter to Umar Un Nabi but also provided logistics support to facilitate the activities of the terrorist before the attack. The arrest follows the earlier arrest of six key associates linked to Omar who were caught during the investigation. The NIA believes that this new arrest has strengthened the agency’s understanding of the operational network behind the bombings.
