Delhi police tells e-commerce sites- The Week

The Delhi Police has directed e-commerce websites and social media platforms to suspend the online sale of fire crackers in the national capital even as the air quality index recorded a marginal improvement on Wednesday.

The direction issued by the Crime Branch wing has asked these websites to activate location-based restrictions to prevent any sales or deliveries of fire crackers. They also have to publish a clear notice informing the customers about the prohibition of firecracker, sales and deliveries in Delhi.

The e-commerce sites have been further directed to inform their delivery partners not to accept, transport or deliver any consignments containing firecrackers in Delhi.

The Delhi government had last month imposed a blanket ban on the manufacture, storage and bursting of firecrackers in Delhi till January 1, 2025.
