His father was an auto-rickshaw driver and mother worked as a farm labourer.
Ansar Shaikh was born in Jalna, a small village in Marathwada district of Maharashtra. His father used to drive an auto-rickshaw and his mother worked as a laborer in the fields. The family of five people, including brother and sister, barely managed to survive. Despite this, Ansar never left studies. He has performed well in studies since the beginning.
Father forced him to leave school
It was difficult to feed five people by driving an auto-rickshaw. They felt that they could not even educate their children. The decision to discontinue Ansar Shaikh’s studies was taken out of compulsion. Finally the day came when his father reached Ansar’s school. He had made up his mind to withdraw his son from school, but a teacher convinced him. The teacher said, “Your son is very good in studies.” The father changed his mind after listening to the teacher.
I will never forget my brother’s sacrifice
The father had decided that there would be no problem in Ansar’s studies, but how? Then his elder brother made a sacrifice. He left his studies for Ansar, who was in 7th class at that time. After leaving studies, he started working in a garage to help the family financially.
Ansar lived up to his father’s expectations, scored 91% in class 12th.
Ansar did what his teacher advised and his father expected. Understanding the condition of his family, he completely focused on his studies, believing that this was the only way to fix everything. He scored good marks in school and then college. Ansar passed the 12th board exam with 91% marks, after which he did graduation in Political Science from Fergusson College, Pune, in which he got 73% marks. Did many jobs during UPSC preparation.
