‘I don’t want to be tied to TV’, Dhurandhar’s Jameel Jamali said this about working in ‘Taarak Mehta’

Recently, in a conversation with Times of India, Rakesh Bedi talked about working in TV and being bound by contracts. He said- ‘Whenever Asit needs me, I never question him about my role because I know that he will give me a good character and write good scenes for me.’ He further said- ‘If we talk about our friendship, we all are connected because Asit made this show and we took it forward together as a team. Asit and I had worked together in Hum Sab Ek Hain before Taarak Mehta.

Talk about Taarak Mehta’s fees

Rakesh Bedi further said- ‘I never ask him about money, he takes care of everything himself. Even if I don’t earn as per the market, I have no complaints. I also do theater and earn good income from there, so I understand that there are limits to this too and one has to take care of everyone in the show. It is not just about me because 20-25 people work together in every episode.

Rakesh Bedi does not want to be tied to TV

In his conversation, Rakesh Bedi also told that he does not want to be tied to TV. He said- ‘This is my thinking, I work according to the value of my work. When I work in Taarak Mehta, I work as per my availability, if I have dates I will do it. But I don’t want to be stuck in the regular pay scale of television. If I give my dates to a TV show, I won’t be able to do anything else.

He recently gained a lot of popularity with the role of Jamil Jamali in the film ‘Dhurandhar’. After Dhurandhar, he was recently seen in Hey Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. At the same time, now the actor will soon be seen in the web series Rakh. Its teaser was released some time ago. This series will be released on Prime Video on June 12.
