DJ Bravo will not be seen in Chennai Super Kings, Gautam Gambhir's place in KKR

DJ Bravo:West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo has started a new innings after retiring as a player. Bravo will now be seen in the role of mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders. He will replace Gautam Gambhir, who has left Knight Riders and become the head coach of Team India. Bravo played the last match of his career in the Caribbean Premier League earlier this week. He was to play the entire season, but his campaign ended suddenly due to a waist injury during the match against St. Lucia Kings. Bravo got injured while trying to take the catch of Faf du Plessis.

Bravo did not bowl in the match and came to bat at number 11 for Trinbago Knight Riders, as the team failed in the run-chase. Although this will be Bravo's first stint with KKR in any capacity, he has represented the franchise under the Knight Rider label for 9 seasons in the CPL. Apart from his mentorship role with KKR, Bravo will also be in charge of the other Knight Rider franchise.

Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Group, said in a press release on Friday, "It is an exciting development to have DJ Bravo joining us. His tireless efforts to win, coupled with his vast experience and deep knowledge, will be of great benefit to our franchise and players." Mysore said, "We are also delighted that Bravo will join our other franchises globally including CPL, MLC and ILT20."

Talking about his new role in KKR, Bravo said,"I have been a part of Trinbago Knight Riders for the last 10 years in CPL. Having played for and against the Knight Riders in various leagues, I have great respect for the way they operate. The passion of the owners, professionalism of management and family-like atmosphere make it a special place. This is the perfect platform for me as I transition from playing to mentoring and coaching the next generation of players."
