A fine of up to 1000 rupees may be imposed
If you do not link PAN-Aadhaar by 30 June 2021, then you will have to pay a fine of 1 thousand rupees. Recently, the government has made a provision for penalty by making changes in the Income Tax Act 1961 through the Finance Bill. To impose a penalty for not linking the PAN-Aadhaar, the government has added a new section 234H in the Income Tax Act.
Is this an easy process to link?
Through the income tax website, you can find out whether your PAN is linked to the base or not. For this, first go to the website of Income Tax. Enter the name, PAN number and Aadhaar number given in the Aadhaar card. In the Aadhaar card, tick square only when the year of birth is Mentioned. Now enter captcha code. Now click on the link Aadhaar button. Your PAN will be linked to Aadhaar.
How to link PAN to Aadhaar by sending SMS?
For this, you have to type on your phone- UIDPAN, after this, write a 12-digit Aadhaar number and then a 10-digit PAN number. Now send the message mentioned in step 1 to 567678 or 56161.
