JaunpurDuring the winter season, patients coming to the district hospital from far away places are facing a lot of problems due to not getting doctors in OPD on time. The situation is so bad that patients have to wait for hours for the doctor by keeping their test slips and receipts on the ground.
Patients reach the district hospital for treatment early in the morning in the cold, but the late arrival of the doctor causes them more trouble. Elderly people, women and patients with small children are getting more troubled due to long wait.
Patients coming from far away places say that the OPD opening time in the hospital is in the morning but most of the doctors do not reach till 10 o'clock.
Patients stand in the queue since morning to get their slips cut. They have to wait in line by placing their slips on the ground for hours. This wait becomes even more painful due to cold.
It has been told by the sources that doctors are never available on time on OPD numbers 11, 16, 17 and 18 of the district hospital.
This is the condition of OPD on the first floor, where if one or two doctors are left, then none of the doctors reach the hospital on time.
Among the patients, Chandram Rai, Rupak, Vikas and Devesh say that the administration should pay attention to this and ensure that doctors are available in OPD on time.
Their problems increase due to not getting timely medical care, which also has a negative impact on health in weather like cold. The government and hospital administration should take this problem seriously and improve the hospital system so that patients do not have to wait long for treatment.
Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. K.K. Rai was informed about the above problem.
Where the hospital administration, despite being aware of this problem, seems unable to take concrete steps.
When the hospital management was contacted on this issue, they cited “other work” for the late arrival of doctors, whereas this is an everyday story.
Not only this, the doctors come on rounds in the morning to see the patients admitted in the ward in the district hospital, but in the evening they leave all the admitted patients to the trust of God.
