Driving License Update: Big relief news is about to come for crores of drivers of the country. Let us tell you that the Central Government is preparing to make major changes in driving license and vehicle related services. Under the changes being mentioned, the validity period of the driving license can be extended and many important services can be made completely online. In such a situation, if these proposals are implemented then people will be freed from repeatedly visiting RTO.

Driving license can be valid till the age of 50 years

Actually, the validity of a normal driving license is for 20 years. But the Road Transport Ministry is now considering changing this. Under which the driving license can remain valid till the age of 50 years of the license holder. Regarding this, government officials said that the purpose of this step is to simplify the complex process of license renewal and reduce the burden of paperwork on the citizens. Due to which lakhs of people will not need to renew their license again and again.

Vehicle transfer and permit renewal will be completely online

In this change the government is not limited to just driving licenses. Under another proposal, preparations are also being made to bring services like vehicle ownership transfer and permit renewal on a completely digital platform. In such a situation, if this system is implemented then the vehicle owners will be able to save time by completing the online process sitting at home and the crowd in RTO offices will also be reduced.

Government’s focus on Ease of Living

It is being said in government information that the main objective of making these changes is to make the lives of common citizens easier. In which administrative processes can be made simple and transparent through digital systems. In such a situation, Expert B believes that in the era of rapidly increasing digitalization in India, making transport services online can become a big and necessary step.

Strict action will be taken against those who break the rules

In this initiative, the government is not only making the driving system easier but is also engaged in making it more responsible. In view of this, an official said, “If you have a system in which negative points are given to drivers for violating rules and it is linked to suspension or cancellation of their licenses, then bad drivers can be reined in.” Which simply means that in future, those who break traffic rules can be given negative points which can lead to license suspension or cancellation. But for now it has just been proposed and no final decision has been taken.
