Eicher Motors is developing a complete range of electric powered e-bikes to meet the varying needs of the customers in different markets. A top official of the company gave this information. Royal Enfield is also a part of Eicher Motors which sells Classic, Bullet, Himalayan, Interceptor INT 650, Continental GT 650 and Meteor 350 motorcycles.
Eicher Motors Managing Director Siddharth Lal said in the company’s annual report for 2020-21 that the EV segment is gaining momentum with positive policy reforms. Looking to the future, we are working strategically to develop EV products. However, we will continue to work on introducing the internal combustion engine. He told the shareholders that the company has strong product development and manufacturing capabilities with a strong brand and an extensive supply chain.
He added that the company is taking the help of deep understanding of consumers to develop a full range of premium electric vehicles and services for global markets. Royal Enfield, the leader in the 250 to 750 cc bike segment, sold 6,09,403 motorcycles during the last financial year.
