IPL 2022: Out-of-form Andre Russell reveals the secret of his success, credits him for his explosive innings

The 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is being played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday. Both the teams face off at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (MCAS) in Pune. Kolkata has set a target of 178 runs in front of Hyderabad. Andre Russell has performed all-rounder in today’s match.

Andre Russell gave a strong score to KKR

Andre Russell scored 49 not out in 28 balls. He hit 3 fours and 4 sixes. In the mid innings break he said,

“It’s good to finish on a strong score. They were bowling very well, the fast bowlers were hitting yorkers. I was a little sad but I said let’s stick with it because I know if I stay till the end we can score 170. We got a few extra runs and that’s a bonus. Based on how it (the pitch) is playing, it (total) looks good, but it is not playing as well as it looks.”

Andre Russell gave them the credit

Andre Russell added,

“170 is definitely a good score. It is holding a bit, but we have to bowl well and bowl in good areas. Once we bowl harder lengths with more space and change our pace… bowlers Umesh, Southee and I, we can definitely do well and we have two top-class spinners too. There is definitely pressure. We know that both these matches are important for us. If we can win by 20 runs, I am not looking too far ahead, but the run rate at the back end is going to be important. We are definitely trying to make sure that we give ourselves the best chance.”
