Chennai: The TNPSC Group I exam is one of the most popular recruitment exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). The exam authority has released the TNPSC Group 1 recruitment 2024 notification to fill a total of 90 vacancies. The TNPSC Group 1 Prelims exam was conducted on July 13, and the results have been declared on the official portal at tnpsc.gov.in. The Commission will be conducting the TNPSC Group 1 Mains exam from December 10 to 13, 2024. TNPSC Group 1 selection process
The TNPSC Combined Civil Services Examination – I (Group-I Services) consists of two stages: Prelims and Mains. The Prelims exam serves as a screening test to manage competition. Candidates shortlisted for the TNPSC Group 1 Mains exam will not exceed a 1:20 ratio. The Group 1 Mains exam includes a descriptive-type written examination followed by an interview. The final merit list will be determined based on the performance in both the written exam and the interview during the Mains stage.

Candidates must obtain at least 340 marks in total for papers 2, 3 and 4. For candidates belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs, 255 marks are required. The minimum qualifying marks for paper 1 (Tamil Eligibility Test) is 40 marks out of 100 for all categories. Candidates who stand above the cut-off marks prepared by the Commission will be eligible to appear for the interview. The TNPSC Group 1 Interview will carry 100 marks.
