Fans divided over BCCI Secretary Jay Shah's generous gift to IPL players

Mumbai Mumbai. On Saturday, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made a big announcement for the players playing in the IPL. From IPL 2025, a player will get an additional amount of Rs 7.5 lakh per game along with the contracted amount. Thus, an already cash-rich league is becoming another rich port for the players. Jay Shah wrote, “As a historic step to celebrate the continuity and outstanding performance of the champions in the IPL, we are Excited to introduce match fee of Rs 7.5 lakh per game for cricketers! Cricketers who play all league matches in a season will get Rs 1.05 crore in addition to the contracted amount.”

He said, “Each franchise will allocate Rs 12.60 crore as match fees for the season! This is a new era for the IPL and our players!” This development comes after the recent IPL Governing Council meeting in Bengaluru.
