Farmer fair and exhibition organized, Agriculture Minister inaugurated by lighting the lamp

Meerut. Today, a farmers’ fair and exhibition was organized by the Agriculture Department in the premises of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, Silk, Animal Husbandry, Sugarcane, Horticulture, Basmati Export Development Foundation, District Science, IFFCO Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hastinapur, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Biotechnology, Veterinary and Animal Science Industrial College of Meerut as well as Dayal Group Sugar Industry from the private sector. And Sugarcane Development Department, Bharat Agro, Molecule, Indian Crop etc. stalls were set up and their products and schemes were displayed.

The fair was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Various stalls put up in the fair were observed by the minister. District Magistrate Deepak Meena was present at the time of inauguration and stall observation of the fair. Under the Promotion on Agriculture Mechanization for In Situ Management scheme, the keys of tractors received under Farm Machinery Bank, distributed on 80 percent subsidy, were handed over to the farmers.
While addressing the farmers, the minister appealed to promote natural farming. It was told by him that because the crop produced from sick soil will also be sick, therefore it is necessary to improve the health of the land. He assured to run the sugar mill till the entire sugarcane is crushed and was informed that 99 percent of last year’s and 72 percent of this year’s sugarcane price has been paid.
