Father’s dead body was lying at Haridwar station for 3 days, son and daughter were avoiding it by making excuses!

The death of an elderly man at Haridwar railway station has shocked everyone. After this death under suspicious circumstances, the problems of the GRP police have increased. The old man has been identified, but his own body is not coming to be collected.

GRP is appealing to the family every day to come to Haridwar and take the dead body. But the old man’s son and daughter make some excuse or the other every day. Now the police have started preparations to perform the last rites themselves after taking permission from the District Magistrate.

How did death and identity happen?

An elderly man died four days ago in the waiting room of the railway station. With the help of Aadhaar card, GRP identified him. He was a resident of 24 Parganas, Kolkata, West Bengal. After much effort the family was contacted. Family members told that the elderly person was a drug addict and was admitted to a de-addiction centre. Somehow they escaped from there.

The old man’s wife had died two weeks ago. GRP tried hard, but the son or daughter did not agree to come to Haridwar. If there was no identification, the police could have cremated it like an unclaimed dead body after 72 hours. But here, despite identification, the family is not showing any interest, due to which the GRP is quite upset.

What are the police saying?

Regarding this, GRP Inspector Bipin Chandra Pathak said that complete information has been given to senior officials. If the family does not come, then as per the rules, the last rites will be performed after taking permission from the District Magistrate.
