Fear of thunderstorms in Delhi for next 3-4 days, Orange alert issued for Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh
It rained heavily along with strong wind on Saturday morning in the entire NCR including the national capital Delhi. Due to which the situation of waterlogging also arose in many places. Trees have fallen in many places due to the strong wind. Keeping this in mind, the Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory and advised not to travel through many routes.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has expressed apprehension about the monsoon in the coming days. Scientist at IMD, Dr. Soma Sen Roy said, “Northwest India will have similar weather today and tomorrow due to moisture from the Arabian Sea. From tomorrow its effect will be mostly in Uttar Pradesh and it will decrease from the next day onwards.
Meteorological Department issued Orange Alert
Scientist Dr. Soma Sen said that there will be thunderstorms in North-Western India for five days. There is a possibility of thunderstorms in Delhi for the next 3-4 days. He said that the Meteorological Department has issued Orange Alert for Haryana, North-East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, but tomorrow there is a possibility of heavy rain in North-East Uttar Pradesh and thunderstorm in other areas.

Moderate to strong thunderstorm was recorded in Delhi on Saturday morning. According to IMD data, at around 6 am at Palam’s IGI Airport, about 65- 99 km. Winds were blowing at the rate of hourly. The Safdarjung weather observatory recorded 15.7 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Palam recorded 18.8 mm of rain in the last 24 hours, while Ridge near Delhi University recorded the highest rainfall of 33.2 mm.

The Delhi airport said at around 6:43 am that flights have been affected due to the weather. It advised passengers to contact airlines for flight information. The rains brought down the minimum temperature to 19.3 degrees Celsius in the early hours of Saturday, which is seven notches below normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 32 degrees Celsius, around 40.4 degrees below normal. The IMD has forecast light rain or thundershowers on Sunday and Monday as well.
