Welcoming the FICCI delegation, Phua said, “We look forward to deepening this partnership for growth and sustainable development.” FICCI had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SFIC in 2023 to increase bilateral trade in the furniture and lifestyle sector. Dr Shilpak Ambule, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, also interacted with members of the FICCI Mission at the High Commission premises. India's furniture business has been identified by the Government of India as a key area for growth, bolstered by competitive advantages such as skilled labor force, abundant raw materials and strong manufacturing environment. FICCI said Singapore businesses are also invited to take advantage of the extensive opportunities available in India's expanding furniture market.
