Bengaluru : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said a big thing about India during a program. He has talked about branding India as a responsible capitalist nation. It emphasizes the country's deep understanding of the limitations of capitalism.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the 8th India Ideas Conclave organized by India Foundation highlighted India's traditional values of sustainable living and responsible consumption. He has said that we thought of it as our responsibility to use as per our need and not as per our greed. We must understand that capitalism has its limits and we need to brand India as a 'responsible capitalist' country.

He said India's adoption of principles like circular economy and reuse was not driven by global trends, but by necessity and responsibility. Sitharaman said in a social media post that we did not follow the principle of circular economy and reuse because we were a poor nation. We thought of it as our responsibility to use it as per our need and not as per our greed. He highlighted the need to promote this mindset at the global level by positioning India as a nation that integrates responsibility with economic growth.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also stressed on enhancing tourism by integrating advanced technology and traditional knowledge. He suggested creating self-teaching digital programs in the top 100 tourism centers across the country. These programs can provide information about architectural significance, tourism value and related languages like Sanskrit and Pali. He said that we should provide learning material for those who want to understand the distinctive wonders of Indian architecture, adopting a multidisciplinary approach to tourism.
India FDA
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also stressed the importance of setting global standards in various sectors. He proposed to create an “India FDA” on the lines of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure top standards in food and drug safety. Highlighting India's scientific heritage, he said that India's strength in science has been unwavering since ancient times. He referenced Nobel laureate Erwin Schrödinger's admission of being influenced by Vedanta in his theories.
