In the controversial remarks against women during the TV Chat show (Coffee Vision), the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI)’s Lokpal DK Jain has imposed a fine of Rs 20 lakh on allrounder Hardik Pandya and open batsman KL Rahul. He has been ordered to pay one lakh rupees to the widows of 10 soldiers of the paramilitary forces who were martyred on duty.
Apart from this amount of fines, Lokpal has also ordered to pay 10-10 lakh rupees in the fund for the promotion of blind cricket. The Lokpal has also said in the report submitted to IANS that if both players fail to do so within four weeks of issuing the order, then the BCCI can cut the amount from both the players’ match fees.
The Lokpal said that these two players were sent back from Australia tour and they had already missed out on earning around Rs 30 lakhs. But he also said that the cricketer is the role model in the country and their behavior should be ideal according to their respective status.
The Lokpal also admitted that because both the players had apologized for their actions and did not raise any objection against the action taken against them, so now it is unnecessary to begin this special investigation again. Whether the comment made by the players during the chat show is a violation of indiscipline or rules under rule 41 (1) (c).
It is clear that after the penalty was imposed on Rahul and Hardik, the matter ends here. Now both the cricketers can prepare for the World Cup with the increased morale and move to England with the 15-member Indian cricket team.
