Five new cases of monkeypox registered in Sudan
Five new cases of monkeypox have been reported in Sudan, taking the number of cases nationwide to seven. Montasir Mohamed Osman, director of the General Directorate of Health Emergency and Epidemic Control in the Ministry of Health, said in a statement on Wednesday, “Two cases were reported in West Darfur State, one in Khartoum State, one in Kasala State and one in North Darfur State. The matter came to the fore.”
“With the new cases, the total number of monkeypox cases in the country has gone up to seven,” he said. The first announced case of monkeypox was confirmed in Sudan in early August.
