Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that all ration card holders (numbering around 72 lakh) will be given free ration for the next 2 months. Kejriwal has said this keeping in mind the interests of poor people.
All ration card holders residing in Delhi will get free ration for the next two months. In view of the fast spreading corona infection in the capital, Delhi has been under lockdown since April 19 and has been extended for a week again on May 3. This announcement has been made by CM Arvind Kejriwal in a press conference.
Chief Minister Kejriwal said, “Ration card holders in Delhi will be given free ration for the next two months, there are about 72 lakh ration card holders in Delhi.” However, Kejriwal also said that this does not mean that the lockdown will last two months. Further, he said, he will help all the auto and taxi drivers by giving them Rs 5,000 so that they can get some help during this financial crisis.
