During the visit to Kurt’s cemetery, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk commented, “We were very saddened when we heard about the accident. At that time, I could not attend the funeral; I was abroad. As Galatasaray Club, we are very sorry. There’s nothing we can do.”

“Together with our players, we wanted him to see us. We wanted to be there for his family. A person who passed away for Galatasaray, on the way to Galatasaray (match). Galatasaray fans will always remember this,” he added.

He expressed hope that the team would get a win and dedicate it to him.
