Good news for mobile users, now there will be no network problem!
To improve services for mobile users, the government regularly updates telecom regulations. If you use mobile phone, then there is good news for you. Actually, a new rule is going to be implemented from January 1, 2025, which will directly impact the customers of Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL. These new rules, which are going to be implemented from next year, will help in the rapid development of 5G infrastructure in the country.
New instructions for Right of Way (RoW)
According to India TV report, recently, the government has introduced additional rules under the Telecom Act, and all states have been directed to follow these rules. The new rule is being called Right of Way (RoW). Under this guideline, telecom companies will have to pay consistent cost while creating infrastructure across the country. Currently, RoW rules vary from state to state, due to which telecom operators have to pay different fees for permissions and setting up infrastructure across the country.
The aim of this initiative is to increase network connectivity for mobile users. The Government of India has urged all states and union territories to comply with the RoW rules implemented under the Telecom Act. The simpler, digital process of obtaining permissions will effectively solve a major challenge for telecom providers. As everything is shifting to digital platforms, transparency and efficiency are expected to increase, especially when many state governments still rely on old, offline methods for granting permissions.
Once the new RoW rules are implemented, telecom companies will accelerate their efforts to set up 5G towers. This regulation can help in saving considerable costs in terms of providing faster networks. Reports suggest that this rule could greatly benefit companies like Vi and BSNL, both of which have not yet established 5G networks. With the implementation of RoW, they will find it easier to move in that direction.
