According to the information, technology transfer has also started, the first dose of vaccine is likely to arrive by this month. According to the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the Russian manufacturer of the vaccine, the target is to produce 300 million doses every year in India. With this, the shortage of vaccines in India will be completely removed.
Giving information about this, Serum Institute Chief Adar Poonawalla said, ‘I am very happy to partner with RDIF for Sputnik Vaccine. We hope to prepare lakhs of doses in the coming months. The trial batch will start in September.
He said, ‘Given the safety of the Sputnik vaccine to be more effective, it must be available all over India and the world. Along with this, given the transition, the government and international institutions will have to work together. AstraZeneca’s Coveshield was prepared at the Serum Institute.
