There is good news for central government employees. The central government may announce an increase in the dearness allowance of the employees next week. The cabinet meeting under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to be held on March 15, in which a decision will be taken in this regard. However, no official statement has come in this regard yet.

By how much will the dearness allowance increase?

Dearness allowance is given on the basis of pay structure of government employees. The government increases it every 6 months considering the inflation rate. The higher the inflation, the higher the allowance. It is believed that this time the government can increase the allowances by 4 percent. If this happens then the DA will increase to 42% from the existing 38%.

Lakhs of employees will be benefited

If the government increases the dearness allowance, it will benefit 48 lakh central employees and 63 lakh pensioners. The government takes a decision every year from the beginning of January to the end of July to increase the dearness allowance. However, it has lagged behind over the years. Earlier, the central government had increased the dearness allowance by 4 percent.
