Gulshan Devaiah set for Telugu debut with co-star and producer Samantha- The Week

After her successful debut producing the critically acclaimed Telugu-language horror comedy Subham earlier this year, actress Samantha is about to start another Telugu-language project. It will be under her home banner, Tralala Moving Pictures.

Titled Maa Inti Bangaramthe film marks Gulshan Devaiah’s Telugu acting debut. Originally from Karnataka, the actor made his Kannada debut recently with Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster Kantara: Chapter 1in the role of the antagonist Kulashekhara.

In his statement to IANS, Devaiah said he had been hoping to work with Samantha for a long time and that this project “arrived at just the right moment.”

Tight-lipped about his character and the project, Devaiah said, “I’m deeply immersed in preparing for my role in MIB. I can’t reveal much about the film or my character yet, but it’s a demanding part, and I’m doing everything I can to rise to the challenge, and hopefully not mess it up.”

An audience and critics’ favourite, Devaiah continues to enjoy his reputation as a reliable performer across industries. In Hindi cinema, the actor has won raves for his work in titles such as Hunterrr, regrets, roar, no pain to the manand Guns & Gulaabs.

Devaiah, who also won praise for 8 A.M. Metro and his newly released YouTube comedy series Perfect Family (co-starring Girija Oak and Neha Dhupia), has been known for his outspoken, passionate, and jovial personality.

A recent clip of the actor, where he tells IANS about being “sick and tired” of listening to actors “whining” about losing work to insiders, has gone viral. His stand was applauded by many netizens and industry professionals.

“Everybody has their advantages. We conveniently forget our own advantage and privilege, the privilege we have over millions of people who are less privileged, and we start crying about those who are more privileged than us. It is rubbish. I am sick and tired of it. Stop complaining,” said Devaiah, while adding that one shouldn’t, however, be silent in the face of injustice.

“I am not saying put up with injustice, but stop cribbing about this kind of trivial nonsense and put in the work. Accept the nature of the business. That is the nature of the business. Are you prepared for it? Only then come to the industry; otherwise, get lost. Do something else. Who the hell are you to think that you deserve better?” he asked.

Devaiah advises keeping one’s head down and working, hoping for the best. “There are so many things you can do instead of whining and cribbing and this nepotism nonsense. It never bothers me, and it should never bother anybody,” he added.

Aside from Maa Inti BangaramDevaiah also makes his Tamil debut with Legacyan upcoming Netflix gangster series co-starring R. Madhavan, Nimisha Sajayan, Gautham Karthik, and Abhishek Banerjee.
