Had MS Dhoni not retired, I would have made him the captain of Pakistan: Yasir Arafat

The fans of the captaincy of MS Dhoni are not only in India. Neighboring country Pakistan is also convinced of his captain. Former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat wants Dhoni to be the captain of his country’s team. Arafat said that if Dhoni had not retired, he would have wanted to hand over the captaincy of the Pakistan team to him, so that the players of his team could also play their part in performing better.

After assuming the command of the Indian team, Dhoni took it to a new level. Under his captaincy, India won all three ICC trophies. He is the only captain in the world to do so, who has won the title of T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy and ODI World Cup. Or

Arafat said that Pakistan also needs a captain like Dhoni, so that the players of Man in Green can give their better performance on the field.

Arafat was talking on Sports Yaari. During this, he said, ‘MS Dhoni is not playing now, but if he had not retired, I would have brought him in the playing XI of the Pakistan team and handed him the captaincy. The current Pakistan team desperately needs a captain like Dhoni, who is very skilled in human-management and knows how to get the best out of the players.

After this, Arafat also praised Dhoni’s match-finishing skills. He said, ‘You must have heard Shoaib Akhtar often saying that when he used to bowl in front of Dhoni, he did not understand how he would dodge him. He is very strong mentally and physically. Before Dhoni, there used to be Michael Bevan in the 90’s. His batting average was over 50. I don’t think there is any batsman in the current era whose average as a match finisher is close to 50.
