“He doesn’t desire to be their No. 1 or No. 2”: Jadeja names four players who should be retained by Chennai Super Kings

All the franchises have started their calculations for the retention of players as the IPL Governing Council announced the rules and regulations. Chennai Super Kings are pleased as the BCCI reintroduced a rule which would allow the five-time champions to retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player.

The players who have retired from international cricket in the last five years can be retained as uncapped cricketers.

A capped Indian player will become uncapped if he hasn’t played international matches in the last five years or does not holds a Central Contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India. This rule is applicable for Indian Players only.

MS Dhoni will get INR 4 crore. Former India National Cricket Team cricketer Ajay Jadeja believes Dhoni will be retained.

“MS Dhoni for sure. He has become an uncapped player and he doesn’t mind to be their No. 1 or No. 2,” Ajay Jadeja said on JioCinema

Jadeja also urged CSK to retain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana.

“Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will stay with the franchise. Ravindra Jadeja is another player, who is needed in Playing XI. These three are perfect for CSK,” he added.

“The fourth one would be Pathirana. He is one of the overseas players, who would play in IPL 2025. These four will be their main players in the upcoming season and they will use two RTMs.”
