India has reported 20,551 new Covid cases in which out of 70 new deaths, Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal recorded the highest number, followed by Karnataka and Punjab.

According to the health department, with 20,551 new infections, India’s Covid tally rose to 4,41,07,588, while active cases declined to 1,35,364. The data shows that the mortality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent. India’s active caseload has declined by 1,114 infections in the last 24 hours, accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total cases, while the recovery rate has been recorded at 98.50 per cent, the ministry said. The country recorded 70 deaths from different parts. However, out of the total deaths, 26 deaths from Kerala were a part of the backlog data. The Health Ministry’s website said that reconciliation of deaths was also being done from Punjab and Goa.

As per this morning’s data, the daily positivity rate stood at 5.14 per cent and weekly positivity at 4.64 per cent. According to the ministry, 205.59 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been given in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign, which includes more than 3.69 million doses administered in the last 24 hours. , had crossed the one crore mark in 2020.
