Every Parent should know these 3 things if your kids are going to school again, Know now
After a year and a half of distance learning, kids are finally going back to classes. While children are very excited to go back to school, the delta variant, a common cold wave and common respiratory infection that can spread to school, is causing a lot of anxiety among parents. Here are three things that parents need to know-
1. Get a test done to confirm whether it is COVID-19 or a cold
Right now the most puzzling question is whether it is a cold or COVID-19? COVID-19 may be present in children who have symptoms similar to those of the common cold, including low-grade fever, runny nose, sore throat, headache, cough, and gastrointestinal problems. An infected child may have a combination of symptoms or none of them.
Loss of smell and taste is not common in children, especially in young children. There is no single symptom that can differentiate COVID-19 from the common cold or upper respiratory infection.
2. Unique Symptoms in Children
The unique symptom seen in some children and teens with COVID-19 infection is “Covid toes” or scratch-like skin lesions, especially on the toes. It is rare and the lack of COVID tow does not rule out the possibility of a positive diagnosis.
3. Who and How to Test?
It can be difficult to evaluate whether a child is tested to see how minor their symptoms may be. But if there is a member in the household who is at high risk, such as an immunocompromised or older person, if the child is going to school, playing outside, or meeting friends, then they must be tested.
Getting the child tested quickly will help in making informed decisions on time.
4. What if your child tests positive?
If your child tests positive, then the first thing you have to do is that you do not panic at all. Everyone else in the house should also be tested.
There is no approved treatment yet for COVID-19 in children. All they need is enough rest and plenty of liquids to stay hydrated.
Monitor your child’s symptoms and inform your children’s specialist if your child is suffering from any more serious symptoms. Watch out for symptoms such as sudden shortness of breath, severe chest pain, high fever, severe abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, as these may be a sign of MIS-C or Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome.
It is important to wear a mask, get vaccinated, and follow good hygiene measures to prevent any kind of illness, even the common cold, and flu.Scream Can Make You Mentally Fit, You Will Be Surprised To Know How?
