The first case of death due to infection of Omicron variant of Corona in the country has come to light from Rajasthan. The death of a 73-year-old Omicron-infected elderly person in Udaipur district of the state has been considered by the Health Ministry as a death from the Omicron variant.

The first case of death due to infection of Omicron variant of Corona in the country has come to light from Rajasthan. The death of a 73-year-old Omicron-infected elderly person in Udaipur district of the state has been considered by the Health Ministry as a death from the Omicron variant.

Let us inform that the report of corona infection of Udaipur elderly who died of Omicron variant came positive on December 15, after which he was admitted to the hospital.

First death confirmed in India from Omicron

According to doctors, the elderly already had many diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure. After being infected with Kovid, samples of the elderly were sent for genome sequencing, after which their report came corona negative on 21 December.

Omicron detected on December 25

According to the Department of Medicine, the results of genome sequencing were received on December 25, in which the Omicron variant was confirmed. At the same time, the elderly died 6 days later i.e. on December 31 at around 3.30 am. It is also being told that the elderly had received both the vaccines.

previously told post covid pneumonia died

On the death of Udaipur's elder, Udaipur Division's CMHO Dr. Dinesh Kharadi had earlier told that the death was due to post-covid pneumonia. At the same time, no travel history of the elderly has been found.

Along with this, the report of the elderly came negative on 21 and 22 December. Kharadi further told that he had diabetes and hypertension and hypothyroidism due to which the virus affects the body differently.
