Homemade Lasagna Sheets: Although you can eat any dish in a restaurant, but the comfort of eating a home-made dish is something else. Now the same is the case with pasta. You will find more than one dish in the restaurant menu, but how would it be if you make the same dish at home. There's nothing better than homemade pasta. It is fresh and always tastes good.
Lasagna is something like this for those who love Italian food. Many variations of lasagna can be made but lasagna sheet will be essential for it. Although lasagna sheets are available in the market, it can also be made at home. If you think that lasagna sheets can be made only by having a pasta machine, then it is not so. You don't need a pasta machine to make lasagna sheets. To make the sheets, you will need a rolling pin, a sharp knife, and a clean work surface. These ingredients will complete the job of making homemade lasagna sheets.
The homemade lasagna sheets suggested here are to be left to dry for half an hour and then boiled just like you would normally boil your pasta. It won't take more than five minutes to cook. You can use it to make your favorite lasagna recipe.
Homemade Lasagna Sheet Recipe
Material
- Flour – 1 1/2 cups
- Eggs – 2
- Salt – ¼ tsp
Method
- Add flour, salt in a bowl and mix.
- Add the eggs and mix well until the ingredients are combined.
- You will have to knead this dough for at least three minutes.
- You may need to add more flour for this. For this, add one tablespoon at a time.
- If your flour is too dry, add one to two tablespoons of water. In both cases, the dough should hold together and not be sticky.
- After kneading the dough, cover it with plastic wrap and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- Now this dough will have soft texture and is ready for rolling. Place the dough on a clean surface of the kitchen stand. Along with this, keep some dry flour aside for dusting so that it becomes easier to roll.
- Cut the dough in half. After cutting them in half, roll them out until they become thin.
- Now cut the rolled dough into desired sheet size with a sharp knife.
- This dough can be used to make other types of pasta like spaghetti, tortellini, ravioli, etc.
- Leave the sheets to dry for half an hour.
- Boil enough water in a pan to cover the pasta sheets. Add salt and add lasagna sheets to boiling water and let it cook for 5 minutes. Take out the lasagna sheets and you can now use them to make lasagna.
