Jaunpur- In Uttar Pradesh, five policemen, including the station in-charge inspector, have been suspended in connection with the absconding of a criminal from Badlapur police station in Jaunpur district.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Shailendra Kumar Singh said on Tuesday that Vijay Gautam alias Baghi, a resident of Badlapur Khurd village under Badlapur police station area, was arrested by the police on a charge. Today he escaped from the police station by dodging the police.
Mr. Singh said that Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma, taking this matter seriously, suspended Badlapur in-charge Inspector Santosh Kumar Pandey and Crime Inspector Devendra Singh and three policemen with immediate effect for their negligence.
He said that after registering a case against the absconding accused Vijay Gautam, three teams have been formed to arrest him.
SP Rural said that the wanted accused Vijay alias Babi Gautam was arrested in the registered crime number 58/23 in Thana Badlapur, who had escaped from custody today by dodging the police, against whom charges were registered again and after his arrest Three teams were working continuously for this, were arrested due to the activeness of the police who were giving rapid raids. In both the registered cases, legal action is being implemented against it as per rules.
At the same time, Mohani, the grandmother of the absconding accused, says that her grandson was arrested by the police on charges of assault. In lieu of leaving, the policemen were demanding Rs 16,000. However, the police are calling the woman’s allegations baseless.
