Managed the innings after the initial shock

In this match played in Dambulla, Indian captain Tilak Verma won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, India had a very poor start. After the fall of the initial wicket, Rituraj Gaikwad along with Priyansh Arya tried to handle the innings. An important partnership of 53 runs was made between the two batsmen for the third wicket and brought the team out of a difficult situation.

However, during the Indian innings, the misunderstanding between both the batsmen in the 13th over proved costly for the India A team. Rituraj Gaikwad played one ball of this over towards long-off and ran for the second run. Initially, Arya took reactions but he hesitated while turning back, which created confusion between the two batsmen and when the host team quickly picked up the ball, both of them started running towards the same end of the pitch.

Priyansh became victim of strange run out

When the Sri Lankan players threw, Ruturaj managed to make his ground first. Although during this time Arya also tried to move his bat towards the crease, but in the replay it was seen that while passing near wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella, his bat probably became a victim of obstruction. After this the matter went to the third umpire and he declared Arya runout.
