Actually, Shubman Gill suffered an injury to his left thumb during the practice match against India-A before the Perth Test. Due to this injury he could not play the first match, but now he has started practicing. The team will play a two-day practice match with pink ball against Prime Minister's XI from January 30 at Manuka Oval, Canberra. Before the match, Shubman practiced amidst rain at Manuka Oval on 29 November (Friday).
Captain Rohit Sharma was the first to reach the nets at Manuka Oval. Then Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli also reached for practice. During this, Shubman Gill first faced the throwdown. About half an hour later, Gill faced Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep and Yash Dayal in the nets. However, vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana did not bowl in the nets.
