Now it will be easy to detect lung cancer, India's first 'Lunglife Screening' program started

New Delhi: The Health Department in India keeps organizing programs from time to time regarding the increasing cases of cancer. Today, Friday i.e. 29th November, India's first 'Longlife Screening' program has been started from a private hospital in Delhi. Through this program, lung cancer can be detected early. Not only this, this cancer program has been started by Apollo Cancer Center (ACC).

Lung cancer accounts for 5.9 percent cases

Let us tell you that Apollo Cancer Center (ACC) has issued a statement regarding this cancer program. According to this, out of the total cases of all types of cancers in the country, lung cancer accounts for 5.9 percent and its share in deaths due to cancer is 8.1 percent. The statement said the program aims to improve survival rates and treatment outcomes. In fact, lung cancer poses a greater risk to health.

Cancer affects people of these ages

Let us tell you that, it has been said that under this program the target was set to investigate those people who are at high risk of suffering from this disease. These include people who are between 50 and 80 years of age, who have been smokers or someone in their family has had lung cancer.

So many deaths in 2020

The GLOBOCAN 2020 estimates of cancer incidence and mortality presented by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) show that lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths, causing an estimated 1.8 million deaths in 2020 ( 18%) occurred.
