Pakistan strongly criticized in UN, India called Shahbaz's statement on Kashmir hypocrisy

United Nations: On one hand, India has slammed Pakistan on Shahbaz Sharif's statement on Kashmir. Last Friday, as usual, Pakistan once again raised the issue of Kashmir in the UN and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif compared Jammu and Kashmir with Palestine. Here, India has termed this statement of Shahbaz Sharif as quite ridiculous. At the same time, Indian diplomat Bhavika Mangalanandan criticized the Pakistani Prime Minister during the 'Right of Reply' in UNGA and strongly hit back at Pakistan.

In this regard, India strongly reprimanded Pakistan in the United Nations General Assembly, saying that it has “been involved” in terrorist incidents across the world and the neighboring country should know that cross-border terrorism against India will inevitably have consequences. Will have to suffer.” India on Friday exercised its 'right of reply' in response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raising the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in his address at the general debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

“This General Assembly regrettably witnessed a farcical incident this morning,” Bhavika Mangalanandan, First Secretary in India's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, said under India's right of reply. A country known worldwide for terrorism, drug trade and international crime and run by the military had the audacity to attack the world's largest democracy.

He said that as the world knows, Pakistan has been using cross-border terrorism as a weapon against its neighbors for a long time. “They have attacked our Parliament, our financial capital Mumbai, markets and pilgrimage sites,” he said, referring to the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament by Pakistan-based terror groups and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

“The list is long,” Mangalanandan said. It is complete hypocrisy for such a country to speak anywhere about violence.” Sharif, as expected, raised the Kashmir issue in his address and said that “to ensure lasting peace”, India will have to restore Article 370 and initiate talks for a “peaceful” resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue. . He said India had rejected his country's proposal for a mutual “strategic arrangement”. Responding to the reference to “any proposal for a strategic arrangement”, India said that “there can be no compromise with terrorism.” “Rather, Pakistan should also know that cross-border terrorism against India will inevitably have consequences.”

Mangalanandan reminded the international community that this was the same country that had sheltered al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden for a long time. He said that Pakistan has a “hand” in many terrorist incidents across the world. “Perhaps it should not be surprising that its (Pakistan's) Prime Minister would speak like this in this prestigious auditorium,” the Indian official said. Yet we must make it clear how unacceptable his words are to all of us. We know that Pakistan would like to counter the truth with more lies. Lying again and again won't change anything. Our stand is clear and there is no need to repeat it.” India asserted that it was strange for a country with a history of election rigging to talk about political options in a democracy.

Today he said, “The real truth is that Pakistan has its sights set on our region and, in fact, has consistently used terrorism to disrupt elections in Jammu and Kashmir, an integral and inalienable part of India.” The young Indian diplomat said it was ridiculous that a country that committed genocide in 1971 and still continues to persecute its minorities “dare to speak about intolerance and fear. The world can see for itself what the reality of Pakistan is.”

Following this, a Pakistani diplomat responded to Mangalanandan's statement under the right of reply. Terming India's claims as “baseless and misleading”, the Pakistani diplomat said the UN Security Council, through several resolutions, has called for an independent, impartial and effective resolution to enable the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination. There has been a clear call for a referendum. Every year, Pakistani leaders sing the praises of Jammu and Kashmir in their speeches at the United Nations General Assembly and India's young diplomats give a befitting reply to it.
