IndiGo Crisis – Government cracks down on IndiGo, directs refund payment by Sunday evening

IndiGo’s flights are constantly being cancelled, making the situation worse. Over 1,700 flights have been canceled in the last four days.

This is preventing people from completing their journeys. Security forces have been deployed at airports to deal with the protests and crowds. Hundreds of flights are expected to be canceled today, Sunday, causing inconvenience to thousands of passengers.

Government Issues Strict Instructions

IndiGo’s biggest negligence is that despite the continued cancellations, it hasn’t stopped ticket bookings. Ticket bookings continue, resulting in delays in refunds. Meanwhile, the government has taken strict action and issued strict instructions to IndiGo. The government has ordered refunds for tickets booked by Sunday evening. Refunds for canceled flights must be made by that evening. IndiGo has also publicly apologized to passengers. Opposition political parties have also taken aim at the airline’s negligence.

Shiv Sena MP Makes a Critical Comment

Politics has now begun to swirl over IndiGo’s actions. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant made a significant statement regarding the cancellation of IndiGo flights. Sawant said, “I know how crooked IndiGo’s management is. They are liars. You knew about the laws enacted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). If you weren’t able to comply, you should have spoken to them.”

89 Special Trains Will Now Run

IndiGo is canceling flights on a large scale, causing chaos at the airport. To overcome the problems faced by the people, Railways has announced running of 89 special trains in all the zones on Saturday.
