He first bowled cleanly to Mayank and after some time KL Rahul was also bowled and got a big wicket. Till now, Chris Gayle (12), who is running in a great rhythm, could not do anything in this important match. Shardul Thakur increased the problems for Punjab with the wicket of Nicholas Pooran (02).

The 154-run target was chased by Chennai openers Faf Duplessis (48) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (62 not out) in a brilliant style. Duplessis caught by KL Jordan to KL Rahul. Gaikwad, on the other hand, impressed heavily in the third match in a row. He scored his third consecutive half-century in IPL.
