Many rules of IPL auction have also changed. Which includes retention, RTM. At the same time, a new rule has also come out regarding Impact Player Rule and leaving IPL midway.
Talking about the retention policy, IPL franchises can retain a total of six players before IPL 2025. Out of these 6 players, 5 can be retained and one can be RTM. Or RTM and retain could be 6 either way.

Apart from this, RTM card is making a comeback for the first time after 2018. The auction amount has been increased to Rs 120 crore. But if any franchise wants to retain five players before the mega auction, then it will have to pay a huge amount of Rs 75 crore. If you leave IPL midway you will be banned

Impact player rule will remain till 2027
The Impact Player rule is going to be in place till IPL 2027. Many teams had demanded its removal but it has been rejected and it has been announced that this rule will be implemented till 2027. That means impact players will continue to influence the game for the next 3 years.

These Indian players will be considered uncapped
That Indian player will be considered uncapped who has not played any international cricket match in the last five years nor has been in the central contract of BCCI. This rule will apply only to Indian players. In such a situation, Chennai Super Kings' star batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni can benefit from this, who can be retained as an uncapped player.
