IPL 2026 Auction: Preparations have been started for the 19th season of the Indian Premier League. A mini auction is going to be organized in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. For which the final list of players has been decided. 1355 players had registered their nominations in the auction, after which the IPL Governing Council asked all the franchises about which players they would show interest in. On this basis, names of about 1000 players have been removed from the list, while some new names have been included.
Bidding will be done on so many players
According to the report of Cricbuzz, 350 players are going to be bid in the IPL 2026 mini auction. Initially, the list of 1355 players was released by BCCI. 350 players have been selected from all the 10 franchises. There are also 35 such players whose names were not recorded in the list earlier. These include the names of players like Kusal Perera, Dunith Velalage, Binura Fernando, and Trevin Mathew.

The biggest name among the 35 newly included players is that of South African wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock. Last year he joined Kolkata Knight Riders for a price of Rs 2 crore. He was released before the mini auction, yet he did not even register his name. Recently, he scored a century in 80 balls in the third ODI against India, this could be a big reason why the franchises want to trust him.
What time will the auction start?
Along with this, let us tell you that IPL 2026 auction is going to be held on 16th December. The auction will start at 1 pm local time in Abu Dhabi. At that time it would be 2:30 in the afternoon in India. All the information about the auction has been given by BCCI through mail on 8th December. It has been said that in the auction, players will be divided into the categories of batsman, wicketkeeper, spin bowler, fast bowler and all-rounder.
