Legal and criminal action initiated
According to IRCTC, many unauthorized platforms were not following railway rules. This was creating problems like getting poor quality food, payment related disputes and data security. As a result, the company has adopted a tough stance.
IRCTC said that it had first issued a legal notice on February 18, 2026. Subsequently, formal criminal complaints were filed against several unauthorized food delivery operators on March 16 and April 11, 2026. The company said that a special investigation had identified several platforms that were providing e-catering services without the approval of the Railways. Legal action has been initiated against him for violating the rules.
