According to the news agency, Jamui Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Santosh Suman said that a 55-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by three men in Malaipur area of Jamui on Friday. The victim lodged a complaint with the police that three people sexually assaulted her on Friday.
Based on the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case and took her to the nearest government hospital for treatment and medical examination. The police have detained a person, whom the victim has described in her complaint as the main accused in the incident. He is being investigated. Based on the statement of the victim, the police have also started raids to arrest two other accused involved in the case.
SDPO said that the victim is undergoing treatment in a government hospital in Jamui. He said that a team of forensic experts is also engaged, which is collecting scientific evidence from the spot. Police said that at present the treatment of the victim is going on and the police are waiting for the medical report so that further investigation can be done.
