Kathua, 22 November (HS). A Kalyugi brother killed his younger brother and sister-in-law in village Labdu Chak, Tehsil Madhin, falling under District Kathua. The deceased have been identified as Naresh Kumar and his wife Aarti Devi. After the incident, the accused managed to escape from the spot. The accused has been identified as Raj Kumar.
According to information, Raj Kumar had a land dispute with his younger brother Naresh Kumar. Because of this, he attacked his brother and sister-in-law with a sharp weapon on Tuesday morning. Due to which both died on the spot. Leaving both of them on the spot in a blood-soaked condition, the accused fled away. Later, other family members and local people informed the police team about this. Additional police chief Suresh Kumar Chib, DSP Border and other teams reached the spot. The FSL team collected evidence from the spot. Later, the police took the dead bodies of both of them into custody and sent them to the hospital for postmortem.
The police later started searching for the absconding accused. The police team was successful in taking the accused into custody with technical help and other efforts. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime. Police have registered a case in this regard under FIR No. 232/2022 u/s 302/IPC at PS Rajbagh. It is being told that the deceased had given birth to a baby girl a few days back. There is a lot of anger among the local people regarding this double murder. He has demanded the police to give strictest punishment to the accused.
