Kim Jong Un’s sister gave a direct warning to America, said – stop dreaming, will not give up nuclear weapons
Seoul. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader and dictator Kim Jong Un, has given a direct warning to America, saying that her country will never be free from nuclear weapons. In a statement issued on Sunday, Kim Jong Un’s sister described America’s denuclearization efforts as an “impractical dream of the past.” Kim Yo Jong clearly said that despite American threats, North Korea will continue to increase its stockpile of nuclear weapons. He further said that no US claim can challenge the status given to North Korea as a nuclear power country, nor does it have any legal significance.
Let us tell you that this statement has come at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting North Korea on Monday. This will be his first visit to North Korea in the last seven years, where he will meet Kim Jong Un.
False claim on Trump-Xi talks
Kim Yo Jong described the US claims as ‘false information’ after the summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing last month. The White House had claimed that the two leaders had confirmed the common goal of denuclearization of North Korea. Kim Yo Jong said that some American officials are still out of touch with reality and have not been able to get out of old dreams.
Program intensified after 2019 failure
North Korea has rapidly expanded its nuclear and missile programs after talks between Kim Jong Un and then US President Donald Trump failed in 2019. Experts believe that Kim Jong Un wants to get formal recognition of North Korea as a nuclear power from the international community, so that the economic sanctions imposed on the country can be removed.
On Sunday, state media KCNA reported that Kim Jong Un inspected a major ammunition factory over the weekend and gave instructions to increase production capacity there. Its objective was to ensure the supply of missiles in sufficient quantity.
News of US-China agreement is baseless
Kim Yo Jong completely rejected reports of alleged discussions on North Korea’s nuclear issue during the US-China summit. He stressed that the policy of strengthening nuclear war deterrence for self-defense is President Kim Jong Un’s “irreversible final conclusion”, which will be implemented without any conditions.
Analyst Hong Min of the Korea Institute for National Unification said that this statement of Kim Yo Jong clearly shows Pyongyang’s sensitivity towards any possible US-China agreement. His main message was that reports of any US-China discussions on North Korea’s denuclearization are completely false.
